FUE TECHNIQUE IN HAIR TRANSPLANTATION

For a FUE hair transplant, your own hair is extracted from the Hippocratic crown, which is the donor area of the skull, to be implanted on the area affected by baldness. This technique is not very painful, simple and long-lasting. Since the implanted hair is yours, there is no risk of rejection.

This type of hair transplant involves so few post-operative consequences that it is nicknamed by some “the scarless transplant”, in opposition to the FUT technique . A significant detail for this part of the body visible to all. This FUE hair implantology technique is not as invasive, you will be able to quickly return to work after the procedure. If necessary, and depending on the reserves of your donor area, it is even possible to repeat the operation several times for an optimal result. PROGRESS OF THE INTERVENTION

Now that you have made your decision, you need to make an appointment for the hair transplant. You should know that this procedure is performed on an outpatient basis. You will therefore be able to go home the same evening.

The duration of the procedure will depend on the area to be treated. It will take place as follows:

STEP 1: EXTRACT THE FOLLICULAR UNITS

After a preliminary shave of the donor (and/or recipient) area and a light anesthesia, the doctor of the hair clinic will proceed to extract the grafts. The cylindrical instrument used to perform this manipulation is very thin (0.8 to 0.9 mm), which is why you will not have a linear scar. The grafts, composed of 1 to 4 hairs each, are then examined under a microscope, sorted, counted and then stored in a cryopreservation solution while waiting to be reimplanted.

STEP 2: PREPARE THE RECIPIENT AREA AND IMPLANT THE HAIR

After another anesthesia, this time on the recipient area, the doctor will make small skin incisions to receive the hair follicles. Then, the clinic specialist will be able to implant the grafts one by one using micro-forceps and a follicular unit protection system. Depending on the number of grafts to be implanted (which varies from 500 to 2000 during a session), the procedure will be more or less long. Rest assured, you will be comfortably installed throughout the hair transplant.

STEP 3: AFTER THE INTERVENTION

At the end of this operation, which can sometimes be long, you will have very little postoperative pain. You will also be able to return to work quickly after leaving the hair clinic and you will be able to do your first shampoo 1 to 2 days later. AFTERCARE AND SIDE EFFECTS OF THE TRANSPLANT

After wearing a bandage for 24 hours on the donor area, you may see some small scabs appear. Rest assured, this will not last more than 10 days and will be eliminated by simple mild shampoos. Also, swelling of the forehead may appear. In this case, a work stoppage of a few days and treatment will be offered to you.

The only contraindication for FUE hair transplantation is: people suffering from advanced baldness with a small donor area. Unfortunately, in this specific case, the follicles could not be extracted in sufficient numbers to obtain a satisfactory result.
