MINOXIDIL: PRESCRIBED HAIR TREATMENT

Minoxidil is a local treatment in the form of a lotion or foam that can be prescribed to both men and women. It allows a significant (but not total) limitation of hair loss and especially a stimulation of hair growth. The mode of action of Minoxidil on the hair is not really known, but this vasodilator allows an interesting regrowth effect after a few months of application on the scalp (generally within 4-5 months). It can be used for all forms of alopecia (not only for androgenetic alopecia). There are variable concentrations: 2% or 5%. The hair that grows back under the effect of this treatment is dependent on the continuation of the treatment, in fact when the treatment is stopped, this hair will fall out.
